Background
Uzume Tennо̄boshi, referred to by the main cast as Kurome Ankokuboshi, is a former Planeptunian Guardian Goddess and is the original Uzume Tennо̄boshi given negative form. She serves as the main antagonist of Megadimension Neptunia VII. Once serving as the Guardian Goddess of Planeptune, Uzume had offered to seal herself away for fear that her uncontrollable powers would bring destruction to the world. However, within the seal, Uzume begun to harvest and rely on the negative emotions of the people, tainting her own emotions and growing to hate the world she once called home.
This sudden intake of negative emotions and energy created a division of Uzume's soul, splitting it into two halves: a faith-reliant, positive Share Energy half, and a hatred-reliant, corrupted Negative Energy half.Kurome, believing to have been born only to be betrayed and thrown away like an abomination, has sworn revenge on Gamindustri and its inhabitants. She is capable of using the energy known simply as Negative Energy. Serving as a direct antithesis to Share Energy, Negative Energy is derived from the negative emotions of the citizens; their hatred, fear, depression, animosity, and more. She is an embodiment of hatred, and so long as the negative emotions of the world continue to taint her main body, there will be Kurome.
Appearance
In her Human Form, Kurome, as the antithesis to Uzume, resembles the latter in physical appearance and stature, but her color scheme is the inverse of Uzume's. She sports an overall blue and black color scheme, with dark blue hair, black fabric, a black and blue striped sock, black and blue pins on her socks and shoes, and and a black and blue tie. She wears a singular, orange gilded hairpin, with a similar one existing on her tie. Her eyes appear empty and lifeless, with a streak of maroon. She also has less exposed skin than Uzume, leaving only her face, neck, and fingers exposed. In her Dark Goddess form, Dark Orange resembles the appearance of the Dark Goddesses the most, though her skin is a darker shade of gray, and her overall color scheme is a fiery orange color. She has cracks all across her body, including on her wings. She takes multiple parks of her appearance from the Dark Goddess' appendages and accessories. Namely, she has the wings of Dark Purple, the waist accessories and axe of Dark White, and the sword of Dark Black. Additionally, she is incredibly large, sporting a height of at least 50 meters, and is a fair bit larger than the already-large Dark Goddesses.
Dark Goddess Form

"Hope is just an illusion in the end."
Name: Dark Orange
Height: At least 50 meters
Preferred Voice: Japanese Voice
Personality
As an embodiment of negative emotions and hatred, Kurome possesses an unpleasant presence overall, constantly insulting and demeaning others, as well as manipulating them emotionally to push them to their limits in terms of their mentality. Kurome is an extreme sadist and sociopath, as she has said before that watching others suffer is her treat, as well as saying that Gamindustri is so much more pleasant when it is falling into despair. Additionally, her reasoning for manipulating the Gold Third and turning them into her pawns was simply for her entertainment, and attempting to dispose of them when she believed she had no use for them anymore. She holds a deep hatred for the people of Gamindustri, as she believes she was born simply to be discarded and turned into a tainted piece of their history.Despite all of this, though, Kurome exudes a calm, smug demeanor that barely ever goes past such. However, if things continously do not go her way, she loses her temper, becoming furious and instilling fear into those around her as a result, including those closest to her as well as her own creations. As Dark Orange, her personality changes a fair bit in terms of her volume. She is constantly, thunderously boasting about her power and her desire to get her revenge on the people of Gamindustri. The calm and smug attitude is dropped entirely, instead becoming entirely arrogant and self-centered, as she calls others' efforts to stop her "worthless", believing her power to be everything.
Backstory.
Many Decades Ago
Born a few generations ago, during the height of Planeptune's gaming impact in the world of Gamindustri, Uzume Tennо̄boshi was, at the time, the most recent Guardian Goddess of Planeptune. Her personality was bright, bubbly, and carefree, as she cared more about having fun and playing around than actually doing her work. Even Histoire had to take note of this, as during a meeting the two had, Uzume was more focused on their matching hats rather than the Processor Unit she was asked to test by the Oracle of Planeptune.During Uzume's rule of Planeptune, she quickly developed a new power, which allowed her to change reality according to her subconscious. Though the name of this power is not given a name, they are simply referred to as "Daydream Powers" according to the Megadimension Neptunia VII Nepedia. Apparently, this power was too powerful for both the Oracle and an additional assistant to handle, as it had spiraled out of control, nearly destroying the entire Hyper Dimension as a result. Some time following this, a secret organization plotted a plan to assassinate Uzume, but this ended in failure. Seeing that the power she held was too uncontrollable and powerful, Uzume asked to be sealed away in the Swirl Console by Histoire, who reluctantly obliged. Afterwards, the Swirl Console was placed under high security in the depths of the Planeptune Basilicom, where it would remain there for several decades until a certain dimensional traveler unearthed it at the request of an acquaintance. As time passed within the seal, Uzume slowly became consumed by the negative emotions of Gamindustri, discarding her previous power source of Share Energy in favor of a new type of power: Negative Energy, the essence of negative emotions. She came to hate the world that she called home, and all of its inhabitants, believing she was born simply to be tossed aside like a broken toy. And in tandem with her daydream powers, all of these factors led to the creation of an entire dimension, all stemming from Uzume's dreams: the Heart Dimension. The remainder of the Share Energy held onto by Uzume became crystallized, forming the giant Share Crystal seen in the center of the Heart Dimension. After spending an interminable amount of time living within the Heart Dimension, an idea dawned upon Uzume that would allow her to exact her revenge upon Gamindustri and its citizens. If Heart Dimension had truly become its own world, though she could not break her seal from the outside, she could destroy the spatial-temporal boundaries of the newly-created dimension, escape to the Hyper Dimension, and wreak havoc upon her arrival. However, there was a singular, irregular occurrence that prevented this plan from finishing. Herself. Or more specifically. . .Uzume Tennо̄boshi. At some point during her time within the Heart Dimension, an unexplained event occurred which caused a part of her soul to separate from her, giving form to a piece of her existence: the Uzume Tennо̄boshi that we all know and love. After this sudden birth occurred, Uzume began to do battle against the Dark Goddesses, preventing the destruction of Heart Dimension, forcing the other Uzume, Kurome, to make a change of plans. Rather than attempting to break the spatial-temporal boundaries of the dimension, she would instead fuse the Heart Dimension with the Hyper Dimension, effectively nulling her seal as she herself would become the product of the two dimensions fusing. And this is where Kurome's involvement in the events of VII begins. . .
The Mastermind of Megadimension Neptunia VII
As the main antagonist behind Megadimension Neptunia VII, Kurome plays a large role in its sequence of events, in that, she is the one who was pulling the strings pretty much the entire time. Even down to allowing Uzume to gain strength through her intaking of Share Energy. Though she plays a minor role in the first arc, Zero Dimension Neptunia Z, she does make a brief appearance in a cutscene, where she takes on the appearance of Uzume in a dream Nepgear is having, wishing for her to be released from the "prison" that is the Zero Dimension. Afterwards, Kurome is never implicitly seen or heard from until the beginning of the second arc, Hyper Dimension Neptunia G.Although she remains off-screen the entire time, Kurome plays a few roles within the second arc of VII. At the beginning of the arc, she is briefly noticed by Nepgear and the Ultra Dimension Neptune before using the power of her Negative Energy to rewrite Gamindustri, changing its history and its foundation by removing the Goddesses and Goddess Candidates from history. This caused most of the entire world to forget the Goddesses, or even what Goddesses are to begin with. As the citizens of Gamindustri depend on leadership for their survival, they turn to the Gold Third, who had previously won the exhibition match against the Goddesses before the world was rewritten. Thus, the Golden Summits were constructed, with the Gold Third as the rulers of Gamindustri instead of the Goddesses. Afterwards, Kurome makes brief appearances in all four of the Goddess' stories. In Neptune's story, she appears after Warechu is shunned by Compa for his actions. She approached the brooding mouse, asking if he would like to see a good dream instead of the nightmare he was currently facing with his unrequited love. However, rather than giving in, Warechu runs away from Kurome and ends up encountering B-Sha and Chuko, whom are conversing in a Planeptune park. Kurome insists that she's not as bad as she looks or feels, and only wishes to show Warechu a good dream, but Warechu denies. In retaliation, Kurome attempts to target Chuko with her Negative Energy. However, Warechu pushes Chuko away at the last second, causing him to be hit by the Negative Energy instead, and transforming him into an enormous, grotesque beast. She finds amusement in B-Sha's overwhelming fear of the beastly Warechu, and says that she'll help the former get over her fear of monsters, but that her methods might be "extreme". As a result, she forcefully inserts Negative Energy into B-Sha, making her more violent, as well as manipulation her vision so everyone around her looks like a monster. In Noire's story, she appears in a dream K-Sha is having, as the latter becomes jealous of Noire spending so much time with Uni. Kurome uses this to her advantage, constantly emotionally manipulation K-Sha and pushing her closer and closer to a breaking point, as well as turning her into a complete yandere. She does this through shapeshifting into Noire herself, initially showing concern and affection for K-Sha, only to then turn around and spend lots of time with Uni, performing out-of-character acts such as clinging to Uni's arm and feeding her, all under the guise of it being "sisterly acts". This pushes K-Sha to the brink of emotional collapse and possessiveness, with Kurome saying she has "sowed the seed", and watching as K-Sha attempts to take Uni's life, believing that the Lastation Candidate was taking Noire away from her.In Blanc's story, she appears after Azna=Leb is arrested and taken into custody by the Hunters of Lowee. She begins to telepathically taunt C-Sha, saying that nothing is happy as Blanc says, and that it's time for C-Sha to awaken as a vessel. She attempts to possess C-Sha's body, remarking that she is looking forward to getting to use the Golden Power she holds, but C-Sha fights back, holding Kurome off long enough to reach the top of the Golden Summit. Eventually, C-Sha cannot hold Kurome off any longer, and her body is taken over by the Goddess of Delusion. However, after a long battle with the Lowee Sisters, Kurome is eventually, and quite literally, punched out of C-Sha's body, losing control of the vessel and missing her chance at wreaking havoc herself. And lastly, in Vert's story, she appears in S-Sha's dream, attempting to make conversation with Leanbox's Gold Third and "help" her with her plan to create a new vessel for E-Sha's "perishing" soul. However, S-Sha turns Kurome away. Later on, S-Sha herself goes to speak with Kurome about the supposed Demon King that Vert and Nepgear killed, expressing frustration and accusing Kurome of tricking her. However, Kurome states that the monster in question was feared as a Demon King in the past, and that S-Sha was to not misunderstand her. Afterwards, she is never seen for the rest of the second arc.
In the third arc, Heart Dimension Neptunia H, Kurome is the most active in the entire game, and reveals herself to be the one pulling the strings the entire time. At the beginning of the arc, she purposefully opens a spatial-temporal hole and corridor in the sky of the Hyper Dimension, connecting it to the Heart Dimension, done to lure the Guardian Goddesses into the corridor so she could kidnap them. Taking on the appearance of Uzume to fool Neptune and the others, she summons a newly-resurrected Dark Purple and kidnaps all four Guardian Goddesses, turning them into the blueprints that would eventually become the Complete Dark Goddesses. Some time after this, she intercepts Nepgear and Uzume's rescue team to properly introduce herself to both her counterpart and the rest of the team, taunting them and letting them in on the secret of dimensional fusion. That is, when two dimensions overlap their dimensional coordinates, they fuse together and become one singular dimension. Afterwards, she retreats towards the Deprived Domain, an area beyond the literal end of the world that not even Umio nor Uzume knew existed. She is able to escape at the last moment thanks to the Ultra Dimension Neptune acting as her ally, though she quickly realizes that Neptune is acting as a double agent due to intentionally leaving the portal to Heart Dimension open. Kurome then tasks Arfoire with disposing of the Ultra Dimension Neptune so she can focus on the Dark Goddesses' completion, as well as the fusion. After the group arrives to where the Guardian Goddesses are being held, Kurome begins to exposit her entire history and plan to the group: how she came to be, why she's doing what she does, what exactly she did, etc.Afterwards, she brings out the Guardian Goddesses, whom have all been corrupted by the power of Kurome's Negative Energy, turning them against their friends and family and attempting to kill them. However, the words of kindness and inspiration from Uzume manage to reach the Goddesses and weaken the effects of the Negative Energy being pumped into them from Kurome and Croire. Much to their dismay, though, the Goddesses managed to cancel out all of the Negative Energy by transforming into their Next Forms. Astonished by the sudden transformation, Kurome summons a completed Dark Green to fight the cast and flees the scene soon after, traveling through the hole that had been opened up over the Hyper Dimension to find the Swirl Console and retrieve it.She was able to obtain information from the slumbering guards about the location of the Swirl Console - which had been moved to an underground area within Lowee - and promptly went out to retrieve her desired item. However, before she was able to fully get her hands on it, she was stopped by the group that went to the Hyper Dimension, alongside the teamwork of Steamax and the Dogoo Man. Frustrated that her juniors would continue to stand in her way, her she becomes furious, engulfing herself in an aura of Negative Energy that leaves the cast stuck in fear. However, unbeknownst to Kurome, there was another group working against her; the Goddesses still in the Heart Dimension, as they attempted to purify it. This, in conjunction with the resistance brought upon by the Hyper Dimension group, forced Kurome to flee and retreat to the Depths of the Heart, waiting for the cast to arrive. After joining up once again, the crew heads to the Depths of the Heart for a final showdown against Kurome Ankokuboshi. Transforming into Dark Orange and trapped in a Sharing Field, this was her last stand. The crew wins. . .but barely. The Heart Dimension is on the brink of collapse as Kurome tries to bring down the dimension, along with Rei Kiseijou's power. Some time following her initial death, the Negative Energy still tainting her main self's soul was able to resurrect her. She made a mad dash to Delusion Planeptune, where she would make her last stand as Dark Orange. However, she fails, ultimately resulting in her true death. . .. . .but there was still a chance for her to resurrect once again. As the crew attempted to resurrect Uzume, Kurome suddenly reappeared again. As she and Uzume are one and the same, they have an equal chance at reviving, and they face off against each other in one final battle. But. . .Uzume comes out on top, and Kurome's fate is left to be buried within the sands of time. Nobody knows what happened to her besides Uzume. And that was the end of the Goddess of Delusion.
